Deleting: ticket, project, account

Deleting at AdenAI is graded by consequence. The more is at stake, the more road there is in front of it.

The check before deleting

Since 2026-08-10 AdenAI asks once more before anything is deleted for good. What you have to enter depends on how your account is protected:

• Two-factor sign-in set up: the six-digit number from your app. A recovery code works too. Your password is no longer accepted at this point, see Two-factor sign-in.
• Otherwise: your password.

If you have just confirmed, we do not ask again for the next 15 minutes. The page that lists what will disappear can always be read without any check. You are only asked when you click the red button.

A ticket

At the very bottom of the ticket view there is Archive ticket. There is no confirmation, because the step can be undone. The ticket moves into the project's archive, appears in no list, counts towards nothing and is no longer worked on by AdenAI.

You will find the archive in your project below the status switches, as a line saying "3 tickets in the archive". If the archive is empty, the line is not there. On the archive page every ticket has two buttons: Restore brings it back into the list, in exactly the state it was in. Delete permanently leads to its own page with the check.

Deleting for good works only from the archive. A ticket that is still in the normal list cannot be deleted. What goes then is the description, the whole thread and the work plan.

Whatever AdenAI already built for that ticket stays in the project. What gets deleted is the request, not the result. More about the archive under Changing a ticket status and archiving tickets.

A project

In the project, click Settings in the sidebar on the left, then scroll to Delete project at the very bottom. Only the owner of the project sees that section. Someone invited as an Editor cannot delete a project.

You have to type the project name exactly, capitalisation included. The page tells you beforehand what will disappear:

• all tickets with their descriptions and comment threads, including archived ones,
• all files AdenAI built for you, with their entire version history,
• all uploaded assets,
• the preview, it is unreachable afterwards,
• the project settings including any stored credentials.

Your GitHub repository stays, if you entered one. It holds the state after the last ticket. Without GitHub there is no copy outside AdenAI. If you want to keep the code, download it beforehand as a ZIP from the project settings. During the trial the download is locked, you need a plan for it.

The ZIP contains the code only. Your uploaded assets are not in it, you have to download those individually under Assets before you delete.

Your account

Under Profile, Settings, right at the bottom, Delete account. You have to type your username, which is printed on the page just above the field. Deleted are all projects, all tickets, all uploaded files and your balance. None of it comes back.

Individual files and credentials

You delete an uploaded file inside the project under Assets, using the bin icon in the list. AdenAI asks once, and then the file is gone, including from the project folder. There is no password or code check here. Whatever AdenAI already built with it stays in the code and will point at a file that no longer exists. Write a ticket saying what should go there instead. Stored credentials are deleted via Manage credentials in the project settings. That page runs the check as soon as you open it, not only when you delete. It reveals which services your project uses, and not everyone sitting at an unattended screen should be able to read that.

What gets deleted on its own

Nothing. A frozen account is not emptied automatically either. It rests: AdenAI stops taking new work, everything else stays for as long as your account exists. We delete nothing on our own, and we do not name a deadline for it.
