Invoices and payment details

Where your invoices are, how to change your card and billing address, and what to do when an amount charged in euros looks wrong.

Everything to do with money sits in the dashboard under Plan & Billing. That page answers two different questions, and it helps to keep them apart:

  • Credits are the currency for AdenAI's work. What gets used up is listed right on the page under "Recent transactions". More on that under Credits.
  • Invoices (your receipts) are what we charge you in euros. Those do not live with us but with our payment provider, Stripe.

What you see without a detour

At the top of Plan & Billing are your current plan, your balance and the date of the next charge. Below that, your last 20 transactions with date and reason.

Important: that list shows credits, not euros. An entry of "-3" means a ticket cost three credits, not three euros.

Viewing and downloading invoices

On Plan & Billing there is a button called Invoices & payment methods. It takes you into Stripe's payment portal. There you will find:

  • your previous invoices, to view and as PDF,
  • the card on file, which you can also swap there,
  • the billing address.

When you are done, a link in the portal brings you back to the dashboard.

The button only appears once you have paid at least once

While you are only on the trial and have never bought anything, there is no record of you at Stripe yet. The button is then missing from the page. That is not a fault, there is simply nothing to show.

Issuing the invoice to your company

The name and address on the invoice come from the payment portal, not from your AdenAI profile. Changing your email address or your name under Profile does not change the invoice with it.

If you want the invoice issued to your company, enter the company details in the payment portal, and do it before the next charge goes through. An invoice that has already been written can only be changed by hand. Write to support for that, with the company name and address.

We are a small business under section 19 of the German VAT act. Invoices therefore show no VAT, and you cannot reclaim input tax.

When an amount looks wrong

First check whether one of these explains it:

Item What it costs
Your plan Dev 19, Pro 49, Team 149 EUR per month
Yearly instead of monthly Dev 182, Pro 470, Team 1,430 EUR, once a year
+1 project 7 EUR per month
+10 pages per project 4 EUR per month
+200 credits 9.99 EUR one-off
An extra team seat depends on the plan, see Team
A domain one-off, the price is shown before you buy on the domain page

Add-ons run as separate items and therefore appear next to the plan. A domain is a single payment and does not repeat.

If it still does not add up, write to support. Give us the date and the amount of the charge so we can find the right payment. If you were overcharged, we refund it.

Two charges in one month

Your plan is billed once a month, or once a year if you took the yearly price. An add-on you book in between is billed as its own item from the day you book it, and a domain or a credit pack is a single payment on the day of purchase. So one month can show two or three entries on your card without anything having been billed twice.

Each of those entries has its own invoice in the payment portal. If you are not sure what a charge was for, that receipt is the quickest way to find out.

If the same amount for the same item really does appear twice, that is a fault and not a price. Write to support with both dates and the amount. We match it against the payment and refund the duplicate.

When a payment fails

You get 7 days of grace, during which everything carries on as normal. In that time you can swap the card in the payment portal. What happens afterwards is under What happens after the trial?.

Paying is not possible yet

Checkout is finished and working, but our prices are not set up at Stripe yet. As long as that is the case there are no invoices and no charges. If your trial runs out during the beta, write to support and we will extend it by hand.
